200 plan libre
Anatomy of an Architectural Journal
To celebrate its 20th anniversary and the release of its 200th issue, the journal "Plan Libre" is publishing a collector's edition: an anthology of 328 pages featuring reprinted, annotated, or unpublished articles. A limited print run of 800 copies to celebrate the love for architecture and paper.
The book "200 Plan Libre: Anatomy of an architectural journal" traces the evolution of a monthly publication through its contributors, editorial visions, and successive graphic versions. Beyond the journal itself, faithful to its print format, "200 Plan Libre" speaks about architecture and its developments as a discipline, in education, and as a profession.
The book "200 Plan Libre" also offers a retrospective and critical look at the journal: How did we talk about architecture 20 years ago? How do we talk about it now? What are the favorite topics? The most repeated terms? The most referenced architects? What roles have the successive sections taken?
As an expanded and supplemented anthology, "200 Plan Libre: Anatomy of an architectural journal" presents a selection of previously published articles, updated or annotated; analytical iconographies, and unpublished articles from guest authors.
Table of contents :
— Readings: Reflective and unpublished texts from guest authors about the evolution of the discipline, education, profession, and publication.
— Facsimiles: A selection of previously published articles, updated or annotated, that have left their mark on the history of the journal or architecture.
— Image collection: A point of focus in the form of an exquisite corpse, exploring the iconography throughout the pages of the journal.
— Data analysis: A graphic and analytical perspective on the concepts, themes, figures, and people who have shaped and continue to shape Plan Libre.
